ALTERNATORS FAMILY GROWS

One of the new Transformers lines, Transformers Alternators, has increased by one. Who is the latest piece to be marveled at I here you ask? None other than that holographic honcho, Hound!

Hasbro have recently updated the official Transformers website, releasing pictures of the latest swag, and included in the update were two fine pictures of Alternators Hound. Now when I say fine, I mean fanflippingtastic!

HEADMASTER EPISODES FINALLY DUBBED INTO ENGLISH

One of the most commonly asked question throughout Transfan’s message boards, and indeed the entire community, would have to be “Will we ever see the Headmaster episodes dubbed into English?” Finally, there is an answer, and it’s all good news!

Whilst not being dubbed by a professional studio, many fans from across the globe (headed up by Transformersource.net) have signed up and have started the long process of dubbing the entire Headmaster’s series into English, and finally, after months of waiting, a demo of the first episode has been made available to the public!

OPTIMUS PRIME RENDER FROM PS2 ARMADA GAME

We have seen many Optimus Primes over the years, from comic book illustrations to cartoon series depictions to toy mould creations, but rarely have we been reminded of the reality of the gigantic, weighty, metal truck that is Prime. Well, not until now that is.

Atari Melbourne House, based in Victoria, are currently working away on their impressive PS2 title, Transformers Armada: Prelude to Energon, which featured heavily in one the UK's most respected gaming magazines recently, EDGE. The feature includes an in-depth, eight page preview of the title, detailing gameplay and some very impressive screenshots, but the most exciting aspect of feature I believe is the CG model created for the magazine's front cover. Oh my, you just have to see this to believe it!

FLEER TO RELEASE TRANSFORMERS TRADING CARDS

For those of you that remember, back in the 80's Transformers wasn't just about toys that transformed, it also involved a lot of other non-transforming junk as well, and one of those lines was of course the trading card set: a collector's piece which is highly sort after today.

Well if you haven't heard by now, back in July Hasbro announced they had struck a deal with Fleer Trading Cards to produce a TF trading card set, and it now appears that time is almost upon us, because thanks to information from 'Matrix Quest' from Transfandom.com, the expected release date in North America will be the 10th December, 2003.

Matrix Quest also provided the following card break downs for the sets:

FOUR FINGERS AND A THUMB

With the Generation 1 series holding the mantel as the fan favorite, it's not hard to imagine why other Transformer brands give it the nod. Whether it be a name similarity or a cameo, It always manages spark interest. Now with Armada almost at an end and Energon on the way in, we can see the trend continuing and once again, the curiosity is building. However this time honor doesn't go to Autobot or Decepticon. It is in fact, the Quintessons!

The Quintessons made their first appearance in the Transformers movie during 1986 and continued to be quite a nuisance for all Transformers throughout Season three. The cartoon established them as the creators of the Transformers and then they were never seen again... until now?

TRANSFORMERS MAKE THE 'MOST VIOLENT' TOY LIST?

Yes, believe it or not, it’s true: Transformers have been joined along with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers, The Matrix and other toy lines as those to be avoided this Christmas, thanks to a public interest group called the 'Lion & Lamb project'.

The Lion & Lamb project, based in Maryland, USA, have been putting lists out for the last eight years in an effort to let parents know which toys not to purchase for their children, as they fear that several toy lines will promote a violent nature to kids.

BATTLE RAVAGE UNLEASHED

Toy News International have opened up a gallery with spiffy new pics of the soon to be released Energon Battle Ravage figure, in and out of his packaging, and he is shaping up to be one mighty fine figure!

Energon sees the return of the beasts in the form of Terrorcons (a Decepticon sub-faction), and Battle Ravage is the first to be released (soon followed by Cruellock and Divebomb).

Battle Ravage pays tribute to the original G1 Ravage as well as his future BW self. Interestingly it also pays homeage to G1 Megatron in the form of a tiny fusion cannon which Battle Ravage can wield.

If this guy is anything to go by, Energon is shaping up to be an impressive series ... as long as you ignore Optimus Prime that is!

MISFORMERS: ART IN DISGUISE

Scott Campbell’s ‘Misformers’ is a collection of art works with a difference.

The canvas, paint, pencils and clay have been tossed away and replaced with something we have acknowledged as art for years: Transformers. Campbell has created an exhibition where Transformers are the artwork and the tool for expressing his ideas on life. However, they are not simply Transformers as we know them; they have been re-modeled almost the same way your mum would after the dog destroyed your two favorite bots. A mistake. They are the Misformers!
