STUNNING IMAGES OF NEW TRANSFORMER: SUBARU IMPREZA WRC 2003
Hasbro recently made a fairly low-key announcment, stating that the next line in the wonderful world of Transformers would be 'Alternators'. Not much more was said and even less was known at the time, however over the last few days the fandom has been buzzing, speculating on whether images of a very sexy Subaru Impreza WRC 2003 is none other than Alternator Smokescreen! This is still officially unconfirmed at present, but regardless, you'll have to excuse my slightly excited tone here when I say oh my lord! Sell my organs on eBay and give the money to Hasbro, because I must have one of these babies!
If, like many of us, nothing has really 'done it for you' since the demise of G1, then your hopes may just be rekindled and your dreams finally come true, because if this is a toy from the up-coming Alternators line, then it looks like it's going to give us the best of both worlds: beloved G1 styling with the fantastic articulation of RID. Get ready to wet your pants...

IMAGES OF 20TH ANNIVERSARY OPTIMUS PRIME
A few months ago, Transfandom.com were asked by Hasbro to conduct a poll, giving Transfans from all over the world the chance to vote - and ultimately choose - which character would be made into a special 20th Anniversary figure. After thousands of votes were cast, Optimus Prime came out as a clear favourite, and ever since that time Hasbro have kept their word and have been busy working away behind the scenes on what some people are already calling 'the best prime ever made'.
These pictures of the prototype were taken by Rakuten at the recent Japanese Comic Con, and oh my does it look good!

'TRANSFORMERS ARMADA: PRELUDE TO ENERGON' PS2 GAME UPDATES
Giancarlo Varanini from GameSpot.com has reported that the up-coming game from Atari will be called 'Transformers Armada: Prelude to Energon' and is due to be released in Spring 2004.
The title will be a full-3D action/adventure game which will allow players to control three Autobots, all of which will be able to utilise a vast array of weapons and even mini-cons to boost their abilities in the fight against the Decepticon forces.
"We're working diligently to develop a game that expands upon the Transformers Armada brand to provide a truly unique experience with intense gameplay, vast environments, and an emphasis on combat," said Andrew Carter, vice president of product development for Atari's Melbourne House. "Every massive environment and character model will be delivered with an unprecedented level of visual realism by harnessing the PlayStation 2 system's powerful graphics technology and techniques, resulting in incredible rendering effects and absolute immersion for players."

BIG NAME DIRECTORS INTERESTED IN NEW TRANSFORMERS MOVIE
During an interview with Comics2Film, designed to promote his latest release, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, producer Don Murphy also talked about a number of other comic book/genre projects he currently has in development, including Transformers.
Don claimed that the film has attracted interest from a number of big name action directors, including Mchael Bay (The Rock, Armageddon), Oscar-winner Robert Zemeckis (Forrest Gump, Back to the Future) and also first-time director Joseph Kahn (Torque). Murphy is producing Transformers along with X-Men's Tom De Santo.
Also in an interview with E online, Tom De Santo let slip that the movie would be based around the comic book rather than the cartoon; speaking personally, he said it was the Marvel comics and not the after-school cartoon that got him interested in the big car-turning-into-robots series.
