HASBRO UNVEILS UP-COMING ENERGON AND UNIVERSE FIGURES
Hasbro have again updated their official Transformers website to bring us more sneak peeks of up-coming Energon and Universe figures, so check out our summary of the year so far for a full-breakdown of recent announcements:
[ JANUARY 2004 ]
Back in January we were treated to two new Autobots, with the first being Tow-Line: if Transformers were to meet Scooby-Doo, this guy would make the perfect Mystery Machine!
The second figure was Downshift and many people instantly fell in love with him; not because of how cool he looks, but who he looks like! Hasbro is once again paying tribute to Generation 1 by using Wheeljack's colours on the toy.
You can see both figures right here.
[ FEBRUARY 2004 ]
First up we have a new-look Hot Shot from the Energon line; a redeco of the original Energon figure. What part the new colours have to play in the Energon TV series is still unknown.
The next update unveiled the long-awaited Sharkticon figure. Looking more like a Shark than his G1 counterpart, the name again returns to the Decepticon fold attached to a figure that puts Beast Wars Transmetal 2 Cybershark (RiD Sky-Byte for those that may not know) to shame!
Finally we have some new Universe figures: the first is Whirl using the G2 Rotorstorm mold with slight modifications for mini-con ports. These ports are put to use by redecos of Gunbarrel (Air Military) and Makeshift (Emergency) mini-cons!
Moving into the future a little sees the old Beast Machines Battle Unicorn and Tank Drone molds repainted and renamed Magna Stampede and Stockade respectively. They too come with repainted mini-cons: Prowl (Emergency) and Terradive (Air Military).
You can see all of the above here.
Later that month even more Universe figures were revealed: the first was Fireflight, another Beast Machines drone figure repainted to what appears to pay some tribute to the G1 namesake. Fireflight also comes with two mini-cons, Firebot and Thunderwing, completing the repainted Emergency and Air Military teams.
The final figure saw the final colours of the rumoured Beast Machines Strika repaint. Sporting new colours (s)he also is renamed to Nemesis Strika.
Both Fireflight and Nemesis Strika can be seen here, and it is interesting to note that none of the Beast Machines figures unveiled in those two updates were released in Australia.
[ MARCH 2004 ]
Hasbro's most recent update unveiled only one new toy, this time for the Energon line: a Decepticon named Slugslinger who is obviously another tribute to the G1 figure of the same name as he features two cockpits like it's G1 Targetmaster namesake, only looking a hell of a lot better!
Check him out right here.
So there you have it, some impressive figures to look forward to!

LEAVING FRIENDS BEHIND
As many of you may know, I have just recently returned from a six month holiday in Europe. One of the hardest things about going away for such an extended period of time was leaving all my friends behind, shut up in cardboard packing boxes, their limbs bound by bubble wrap and masking tape, locked in a faceless storage facility...

TAAU MEMBER FEATURES IN DREAMWAVE COMIC
In January of this year, TAAU member Ravage posted a superb piece of Transformers fan art on the board. The amazing illustration depicted a lone Beast Wars Megatron standing beneath a colossal G1 Megatron, which very cleverly referenced and paid homage to the classic Planet of the Apes scene showing the Statue of Liberty buried in the sand.
